As riders in the krewes of Carrollton and King Arthur parades made the turn onto St. Charles Avenue from Napoleon today they were greeted by . . . a sea of parade-goers dressed in New Orleans Saints jerseys and hats.
All around the parade route on Super Bowl Sunday, the dress of the day was anything colored black and gold.
Saints hats. Saints jerseys. Saints T-shirts. Even Saints feather boas.
Several bands in the parades even played Saints-themed music, including the popular “Crunk.”
And as parade-goers stretched for beads and cups, they also kept a close eye on their watches.
The big Game, after all, is only hours away.
