HOUSE — Jon Seda returns to the police beat, guest starring as a detective who’s convinced he’ll die of a heart attack at 40 because his father and grandfather did. No doctor has been able to find anything wrong with his heart, but if anyone can figure this one out, it’s House (Hugh Laurie). (8 p.m., Fox)

TRUE GRIT — John Wayne won his only best actor Oscar for his performance in this 1969 Western. his character, Rooster Cogburn, is an aging, hard-drinking U.S. marshal who was one of the West’s best lawmen in his prime. a teenage girl (Kim Darby) enlists his help in finding and taking down the man who killed her father. (8 p.m., TCM)

BRUCE ALMIGHTY — Jim Carrey plays a TV reporter who reacts badly to being passed over for an anchor job. Lamenting his lot in life, he gets a surprising gift from the deity (Morgan Freeman): power over virtually everything. (9 p.m., USA Network)

NUMB3RS — The theft of millions of dollars worth of jewels during the broadcast of an awards show thrusts the team into the spotlight. An old case is preying on Don (Rob Morrow), while Larry (Peter MacNicol) returns from his adventure in the desert. Marilu Henner and William Katt guest star in the new episode. (10 p.m., CBS)

GROUNDHOG DAY — Christmas figures in more movies than you can shake a candy cane at, but Punxsutawney Phil’s day in the sun — or lack thereof — has inspired just one. bill Murray stars in this 1993 romantic comedy as an obnoxious TV weatherman forced to relive Feb. 2 until he gets it right … mending his abrasive ways and winning the lovely Rita (Andie MacDowell). (10 p.m., Bravo)
