Armando Gomez says:

The Obama Fog

This editorial is partly based on the Press Democrat’s front page article(s) “Obama, Demos may force health vote.” But it reality, I wanted to write this days earlier, days before the health care summit of February 25, 2010. Bottom line: President Barack Obama is perhaps the most insidious president in our lifetime. This very notion held me back in writing; I couldn’t put into words. But this morning, the fog, the Obama Fog, lifted. everything you have heard and seen on newspapers or on television is a farce: very headline, very talking head don’t know what they’re talking about. Second bottom line: Obama never had an intention of supporting health care reform, or the pubic option. His number one campaign pledge is an outright lie; which explained his other failed pledges. The first clue, and his most persistence, is bipartisanship with the Republicans; it’s both a dead end and dead giveaway. The Republicans never have, nor ever will, support or accept true health care reform. they have made this very clear. So, why “liberals” still accepts Obama’s dogged need for bipartisanship in order to succeed in achieving true health care reform? From the start, I distrusted him, but even I couldn’t make out Obama’s true nature: he’s an accomplished corporatist. In short, he was never one of “us.” As a renowned capitalist, his true opposition is We the People, not the Bad old, Blood Sucking Corporations. The clues were all too apparent, especially from my earlier editorials: Obama’s midnight White House health industry visitors, which include Bill Tauzin (CEO, Pharmaceutical Research & Manufacturers of America) and Karen Ignagni (CEO, America’s Health Insurance Plans). His campaign contributions included nearly $20 million from health services/HMO and pharmaceuticals/health products. His refusal to put Max Baucus in his place, along with his pet squirrels. he followed Rahm Emanuel’s game plan to destroy the public option. Obama got Nancy Pelosi to do is dirty work in keeping Single Payer of the table, and had Dennis Kucinich barred in the recent health care summit—or any summit. The summit, the ultimate dog and pony show, and you know what? It worked. Obama still has his cheerleaders prancing up and down for him as mr. Change. It’s like watching the last segment of the musical “Chicago,” where Billy Flynn “razzle-dazzle ‘em” as he “give ‘em the old hocus-pocus.” We got poked in the eye with that hocus-pocus. President Barack Obama, the most personal president since John F. Kennedy, the progressive’s Ultimate Obstructionist.
